Picking up a color from the Trace Layer

You can pick up the color of any ink line in the Trace layer using the Copy Ink tool. Select this tool from the toolkit, then click on the trace line to copy its color.

You can select the Copy Ink tool temporarily when you already have the Ink tool selected. Just hold down the Shift key, click on the trace line whose color you want to copy, then release the Shift key and carry on inking.

Controlling the brush size

If you need to ink areas of small detail, zoom in on the image; the brush size remains constant, no matter how far you zoom in. You can also resize the brush to any size between 1 and 16 pixels. With a smaller brush you can have extremely fine control over your trace-layer inking.

To increase or decrease the size of the brush, hold down the Alt key and drag to the upper-right or lower-left:
